Accepted: national licence. Every driver needs a licence held for at least one year. EU and Schengen licences are accepted. A licence from outside the EU and Schengen also needs a valid International Driving Permit.

Your passport or photo ID.

A credit card is needed for the deposit. Bring the physical card. It must be in the main driver's name.

€990–€2,500 on a credit card, depending on the car category. The same on every package. Plus a separate €99 traffic-fines deposit (fines, tolls, road-access penalties), refunded in full.

Credit card only: Mastercard or Visa.

€2,990–€4,500 on CDW, depending on the car category. LAZY lowers it by 40% (€1,794–€2,700), SMART by 50% (€1,495–€2,250), SCDW by 60% (€1,196–€1,800). Tyres, rims and glass are not covered. The theft excess doubles if the car is stolen outside the Schengen area. Cover is not valid for gross negligence, illegal use or breach of contract. Upgrades are bought at the counter at pick-up.

Damage and theft excess €1,794–€2,700. Includes damage and fire insurance, and out-of-hours return without a shuttle.

Damage and theft excess €1,196–€1,800, the lowest offered. Includes glass insurance and cleaning.

A police report is required for theft and fire.

€0.69 per km over your allowance. Unlimited mileage: €49 per day, up to 10 days. Distance packages per rental: 200 km €99, 300 km €149, 500 km €249, 1,000 km €399. The station confirms the kilometres included with your car.

Return the car with the same fuel level as at pick-up.

Collection outside the desk's opening hours. Charged if the car is collected outside opening hours.

30 minutes' grace. After that a late fee applies: €199 on CDW, €99 on LAZY, SMART and SCDW.

Only with authorisation bought at the counter before the rental starts: €99 to a neighbouring Schengen country, €299 elsewhere in Schengen, €990 outside Schengen. Without authorisation: €199, €599 or €1,699. Motorway tolls are extra. The theft excess doubles outside Schengen.

Sicily and Sardinia: €250 with authorisation from the counter, €350 without. This includes the ferry permit and is charged on top of any cross-border fee.

Mainland Italy: Milan Malpensa to Bergamo €99. To Sicily €450, to Sardinia €550. The fee for your route is shown before you pay.

To or from Salzburg €790, to or from Vienna €890, to Budapest €990. Must be agreed in advance.

Anything you paid online is refunded in full. Later cancellations and no-shows are not refunded.
